Humble beginnings, Geir Ness born and raised in Norway, came to the United States with hopes of achieving the “American Dream.” Little did he know, he would intrigue the world with fragrances from his home. Geir, in a recent interview, shares his love for Norway, family and his passion.
Coming to the United States with only his dreams and a desire to make a living for himself, he landed a job as a Fragrance Model. What caught people’s attention about him, besides the fragrances and his striking appearance, was his accent. Geir received a myriad of questions regarding Norway causing him to reminisce of his childhood and the crisp clean smell of the air he so fondly enjoyed on his adventures in nature. What transpired next in his life put Norway on the map.
Geir managed to take what he so frequently absorbed growing up and bottle it. Some may say capturing the wind is a fanciful endeavor, however to him it was the essence of who he was. Laila, Geir’s Mother, was his muse as he create a fragrance that would capture his childhood. His fragrance Laila became Norway’s pioneering toiletry. Following up the success of Laila, Geir created a self-titled men’s fragrance. Amazing how tapping into your inner-being gives way to parts of ourselves that we thought were insignificant on a grand scale, however those minute moments make such a positive impact on so many lives. This is when you know that you have followed the path you were created for.
Developing fragrances and solidifying his place in the world, Geir never forgot about what it truly means to be successful. Volunteering and lending his name to various causes throughout the years, Geir credits his upbringing and more specifically his Mother. Despite their humble beginnings, she gave him those intangible gifts that would last a lifetime. Love and self-worth gave Geir the courage to strike out on a journey to an unfamiliar country. Passion and hope sustained him when things didn’t look so promising. Respect and humility causes him to give back to those less fortunate. Geir Ness gave one of humanities most prized possessions in a bottle…love. Love for family, love for himself and love for people.
