Gene Moore Walking His Own Path
The consummate singer, Gene Moore is an unforgettable force to be reckoned with. His style is a mash up of old school charm and today’s urban flare. The man, Gene Moore, is much more than his vocal ability or his style. There’s a story that encompasses his journey, which led him to join label mate Brian Courtney Wilson on the “Just Be” Tour. Both of their paths cross giving their audiences a double shot of Jesus wrapped in coolness. Their stop in Chicago at The Promontory, Hyde Park’s spot for good eats, great vibes, and fantastic music, was nothing short of awesomeness.
Behind the buttery smooth vocals, Gene Moore possesses a well-rounded mindset that supersedes his years. Perhaps, the era in which his influences derive, Stevie Wonder and Donny Hathaway, contribute to his persona. Gene let his audience inside to know who he is as he testified of earlier on being newly married and losing his job. He unashamedly stepped up to provide for his family by driving for a well-known ride share company, which also allowed him flexibility to minister at a moments notice. This is the real deal on what it takes to be successful in life.
The realness of Gene Moore comes through his vocals and songs. His latest project Tunnel Vision culminates his path to this point. Meshing the dirty guitar solo, foot stomping percussion beats, and trap synthesized snare on Won’t Be Moved sets the tone for the rest of the album. While Tunnel Vision showcases Gene’s ability to groove, his message and love of God shines through perusing his inner man. The track Apart affirms commitment that “can’t be broken”. Ask for Rain and his throwback tribute to his traditional gospel roots Always Remember reminds listeners his depth of his relationship with God and posture to worship.
Gene enlisted gifted producers and songwriters, Matt Redman, Eric Dawkins, Jason Nelson, and Deon Kipping, to work on his vision for Tunnel Vision. Their collaboration produced a project that encapsulates Gene’s passion and focus. Download Tunnel Vision on all digital outlets.
